Jacqueline O’Donovan OBE is a celebrated Irish‑born entrepreneur, sustainability advocate, and safety pioneer. She took the helm of her family’s waste‑management firm, O’Donovan Waste Disposal Ltd, at just age 19 and led it for 36 transformative years, growing it from a £175,000 turnover into a multimillion‑pound enterprise while earning a reputation for excellence in safety and sustainability. In recognition of her impactful leadership and contributions to recycling, safety, and industry, she was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the King’s Birthday Honours list of 2023. She also received the Presidential Distinguished Service Award from the President of Ireland for her support of the Irish community in the UK.

Jacqueline has been honoured with numerous accolades throughout her career, including PwC Private Businesswoman of the Year, Growing Business Awards Entrepreneur of the Year, and Director of the Year (twice) from the Institute of Directors.

After stepping down as Managing Director in early 2024, following the acquisition of the company by Swedish firm Sortera, Jacqueline has shifted focus to new ventures. She launched ODPR, a PR and marketing agency serving the construction, logistics, and supply‑chain sectors, and has invested in initiatives spanning employment for over‑55s, women’s health supplements, and breast‑flow monitoring technology.

She continues to shape industry and governance as a Trustee on the Board of BITA (British International Trade Association), where her strategic insight is valued as the organization expands globally.
